Bio
Coach Craig Fuentes was hired on January 9, 2023, becoming the fifth head coach in the history of the Grossmont College Softball program. A native of Roseville, California, Coach Fuentes previously spent five seasons (2017–2022) as an assistant coach at Sierra College in Northern California. He also competed for Sierra College as a student-athlete before completing his bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona.
After several seasons without competition due to Covid, Coach Fuentes guided the Griffins through their return to play in 2024, finishing the season with a 7–31 overall record and a 2–10 mark in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC). The rebuilding year was highlighted by three players earning Second Team All-Conference honors and two players receiving Honorable Mention recognition.
In his second season leading the program, Coach Fuentes continued to move the team forward, improving to a 12–25 overall record and 3–10 in PCAC play, with five Griffins earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.
