Grossmont's men's basketball team has won five of their last six games including the Santa Barbara City College Tournament Championship this past weekend. The Griffins began the tourney on Thursday with a 65-61 win over Columbia College. The Griffins would once again prevail on Friday night beating College of the Desert 78-66. The tournament came to a close on Saturday evening with Grossmont versus Bakersfield. This was Grossmont's second trip to a tournament championship game in less than two weeks. The Griffins won a hard fought close battle 67-65 thus finishing the weekend with three consecutive wins and the tournament championship. 6'5 freshman Ronald Blain was named as the tournament's Most Valuable Player - while sophomore guard Daniel McCowen from Palm Desert, CA was selected to the All Tournament Team.
